Injury woes continued for Team India as their lead paceman Jasprit Bumrah will miss the 4th and final Test at Brisbane due to abdominal strain while fielding in Australia’s 2nd innings. Bumrah being India’s pace spearhead will be missed in the fastest and the bounciest pitch in Australia which is Gabba.
According to reports from PTI, a BCCI source has told them that Bumrah has likely strained his Abdomen while fielding in Sydney. As a result, he will most probably sit out of the deciding Test in Brisbane but likely to available for selection in the home Test series against England.
“Jasprit Bumrah suffered an abdominal strain while fielding in Sydney. He is going to sit out of the Brisbane Test but is expected to be available against England,” a BCCI source told PTI.
This is a huge blow for the visitors as Bumrah has been in fine bowling form in the series and his absence will definitely India’s chances in regaining the Border-Gavaskar trophy at the Gabba. He is the 2nd highest wicket-taker in this series for India behind Ashwin, having taken 11 wickets in 3 games so far at an average of 29.36.
