Defending Champions – Australia cricket team will play against New Zealand in the first match of the Super-12 Round of T20 World Cup 2022. This will be the rematch of the last year’s T20 World Cup 2021 Final.
International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the T20 World Cup 2022 schedule & qualification pathway. The 8th T20 World Cup will be played among 16 teams – 11 teams participated in T20 World Cup 2021 + 2 teams from Global qualifier A + 2 teams from Global qualifier B + Australia (host of the tournament).
Australian Cricket team is kept in Group 1 of the Super 12 round for the T20 World Cup 2022. The other teams in the same group includes arch-rivals New Zealand, England & Afghanistan while two more teams will join them after First Round.
