The tenth edition of Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2022) is all set to kick-start from 31 August 2022 with the finals to be played on 30 September 2022. The tournament will be held across four venues i.e. St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana. The inaugural Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) fixtures and venues were also announced.
This year’s tournament brings a significant opportunity for the West Indies and overseas players to come out and perform, which could be of huge help in the selection of their respective international teams for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is an annual T20 Cricket League held in the Caribbean and was founded by West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 2013. The CPL T20 tournament is played between six teams and is divided into a group stage and a knockout stage.
CPL 2022 Schedule & Time Table in IST
The CPL 2022 will be played from August 31 and the final of the tournament will be played on 30th September. The tournament’s opening day will see the Trinbago Knight Riders Women take on the Barbados Royals women before the current Men’s champions, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, begin their title defence against Jamaica Tallawahs.

Unlike CPL 2021 & CPL 2020, which was hosted completely in St Kitts & Nevis, CPL 2022 will be played across four venues i.e. St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana
CPL 2022 Tournament Format
As per the CPL format, the CPL 2022 will also be played between six teams and is divided into a group stage and a knockout stage. In the group stage, the teams each play ten matches overall. Whereas in the knockout stage, the top 4 teams face off each other in Semifinals which is followed by the Finals.

CPL History
The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is an annual Twenty20 cricket tournament held in the Caribbean. It was founded by Cricket West Indies in 2013 to replace the Caribbean Twenty20 as the premier Twenty20 competition in the Caribbean. It is currently sponsored by Hero MotoCorp and consequently officially named the Hero CPL.
The inaugural tournament was won by the Jamaica Tallawahs who defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final. The last edition i.e. CPL 2021 was won by St Kitts & Nevis Patriots who defeated St Lucia Kings in the final by 3 wickets.

Since the inception in 2013, there are only 4 teams who are able to win the trophy. While Trinbago Knight Riders won the title for 4 times, Jamaica Tallawahs & Barbados Tridents won twice each. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots joined the list after winning the title in CPL 2021.
