Who won today’s IPL match?: In the 59th match of IPL 2022 which is the El-Classico of IPL, Mumbai Indians routed Chennai Super Kings on a tough pitch. First MI team dismissed CSK for just 97 runs and then chased down the target in 14.5 overs with 5 wickets to spare.
With the loss, Chennai Super Kings (CS) became the 2nd time to crash out of IPL playoffs race. With the victory, MI have registered their 3rd victory but they are still sitting at bottom of IPL points table. CSK are at 9th place with 4 victories

First the toss was a bit delayed due to power failure at Wankhede Stadium and then Devon Conway was given out LBS on 2nd ball. Unfortunately, the DRS was not available at that time which left the CSK fans furious.
Daniel Sams dismissed Moeen Ali in same over and then Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Robin Uthappa in next over to leave CSK 5/3 within 2nd over. At the end of powerplay, CSK were struggling at 29/5.
CSK skipper MS Dhoni played a sensible knock of 36 runs off 33 deliveries but at the other end the wickets kept tumbling. Sams took 3 wickets for 16, Kartikeya Singh took 2 for 22 and Riley Meredith took 2 for 27 as CSK were bundled out for 97 runs in 16 overs.
Chasing a target of 98 runs, Mumbai Indians won the match comprehensively with 5 wickets and 31 balls to spare. They lost 4 wickets for just 33 runs but Tilak Varma played with maturity and scored 34 runs off 32 balls.
Hrithik Shokeen scored 18 runs while Tim David struck 2 sixes in his 16 runs off 7 balls. Rohit Sharma scored 18 runs as MI took the revenge of the first clash of IPL 2022 when Dhoni won the game on final ball.

Man of the match today IPL
Mumbai Indians fast bowler Daniel Sams was declared as Player of the match for his early wickets. Sams dismissed Conway on 2nd ball and then Moeen Ali on 4th ball to reduce CSK to 2/2 in first over.
Daniel Sams took his 3rd wicket of the innings by dismissing CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad in 5th over. Gaikwad was caught by Ishan Kishan down the leg side trying to flick the ball for 7 runs. Sams finished his spell with 4-0-16-3.
