Australia’s David Warner is going to participate in the inaugural edition of UAE’s International League T20 2023. If he enters into an agreement with the new cricket league, Warner might miss Cricket Australia’s domestic Big Bash League which will be a shocking development.
According to the reports, David Warner is in negotiations to join the ILT20 league, in which all six teams will have financial support from different IPL franchise owners. Warner who is a part of Delhi Capitals might then join the Dubai Capitals (DC owned team).
Warner requesting for NOC from Cricket Australia
According to the reports, 35 year old David Warner has requested the No Objection Certificate from Cricket Australia to participate in the UAE ILT20 league.
“Each franchise will be allowed to sign four players of their choice outside of the draft or auction which we will decide later. It could be any player who has a NOC from his home board,” according to Mubashir Usmani, the secretary-general of the Emirates Cricket Board.
It is anticipated that Big Bash League will have clash with the new South Africa cricket league and UAE’s International League T20 which are scheduled for January 2023 window. The ILT20 is scheduled to run from January 6 to February 12. The BBL is scheduled to run from December 13 to February 4.
Warner is contracted to CA, but Australia do not have any international cricket in the last three weeks of January following the completion of a three-Test series with South Africa on January 8.
David Warner has not participated in the Big Bash League since 2013 as CA-contracted players do not have to play in the BBL as part of the agreement.
