Fans delighted after Rohit Sharma congratulated Virat Kohli for his “Great Achievement” of winning top 2 ICC awards

Indian skipper, Virat Kohli is arguably the best modern-era batsman. His record-breaking spree in this decade earned him top 2 ICC awards on 28th December,2020. The ‘Run-machine’ of World cricket was honoured with Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Male Cricketer of the Decade and the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Decade by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Kohli is the only cricketer to cement his spot in ICC Men’s T20I, ODI and Test team of the decade. The cricketing world is continuously pouring their wishes to the right-handed batsman from the very moment he got awarded with the accolades. However, the wish that grabbed everyone’s eyeballs is of none other than India’s vice-captain – Rohit Sharma.

The reports of the rift between the two pioneers of Indian cricket, Rohit and Kohli, emerged after the Indian team’s unexpected exit from the World Cup, 2019. Poor-handling of Rohit Sharma’s hamstring injury also led to the news of bad-blood between the two resurfacing.

However, putting an end to all the rumours, Mumbai Indians captain lauded Kohli after he was announced as the recipient of dual ICC honours. Sending a reply under a post, Rohit wrote, “Great Achievement” along with ‘clapping hands’ emoji.

Virat Kohli’s comments are winning the prestigious awards

In a video posted by ICC on it’s official Twitter handle, Kohli talked about the golden moments of his cricketing career that define his stature at present.

“Firstly, it’s a great honour for me to receive this award. The moments that I hold the closest to my heart in the last decade definitely has to be the World Cup win in 2011, the Champions Trophy win in 2013 and wining the series in Australia in 2018. These are the three moments that I hold dearly in my heart,” Kohli was quoted as saying.

“I believe there have been many, many special games for Team India in the past decade and for me personally as well. I wouldn’t want to mention the personal knocks so much because then I’ll have to rate them and I don’t like doing that because for me every game played for India is as crucial,” he added.
