India and Pakistan bilateral series – “Its not realistic, forget about it” Wasim Khan

Any cricket match between India and Pakistan is always a high-octane match. The rivalry between the neighborhood countries has taken the excitement for cricket fans to a new level. India and Pakistan last played against in a Bilateral series in 2012 when Pakistan toured India for 2 T20I and 3 ODI matches.

The bilateral cricket matches between India and Pakistan remain suspended because of the increasing tension between the governments of neighborhood countries. Both teams face each other in multi-teams contests like World Cups, Champions Trophy and Asia Cup.

Pakistan Cricket Board CEO – Wasim Khan believes that any bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan is not realistic at the present moment. When PCB Chief – Wasim Khan was asked to explore bilateral series between India and Pakistan to benefit both PCB and BCCI. While speaking to Cric Cast host – Sawera Pasha, PCB Chief Wasim Khan said:

“Sadly we need to forget about playing India for a period of time. It’s really sad for all the cricket fans, for PCB as well as for BCCI because we actually get on well with BCCI. But also ultimately they have to get the permission from their government before they can play against Pakistan. So that’s one sad thing.”

Bilateral series between India and Pakistan is not realistic for either side right now – Wasim Khan

While continuing further about the contingency planning done by PCB to financially sustain in the present COVID-19 crisis, Wasim Khan said:

“Unfortunately we don’t think about playing against India now because its not realistic for either side right now. may be in the future there may be an opportunity for us. But right now sadly there is no such opportunity.”

” And I think we need to forget about it for the immediate future because it is not foresee unless in the World Cup or ICC tournaments its not going to happen. So, it is a difficult time but thankfully PCB have done all our contingency planning. We have looked all our various scenarios and we are ready for our finances for the next three years.”
