ICC has chosen India as the venue for the Women’s ODI World Cup in 2025. This will be the first time since 2013 that India will host the women’s world cup. Bangladesh & England are chosen as the hosts for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 & 2026 respectively.
Meanwhile Sri Lanka is tentatively chosen as the host for inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy in 2027. However it will be subjected to them qualifying for the tournament. The venues for the Women’s cricket marquee tournaments were ratified by the ICC during the AGM.
India will host the Women’s ODI World Cup for the fifth time in 2025, and its first global women’s tournament since 2016 when the T20 World Cup ran parallel to the men’s event. The 2025 edition is set to be similar to the 2022 edition, with eight teams taking part and playing a total of 31 matches.
The 2023-27 FTP cycle will start with the T20 World Cup 2024 in Bangladesh which will be the first tournament in a decade in the country. Bangladesh have last hosted the 2014 men’s T20 World Cup. In the T20 World Cup 2024 there will be 10 teams playing a total of 23 matches in the tournament.
Meanwhile Sri Lanka has been chosen as the venues for the inaugural edition of Women’s Champions Trophy in 2027, which will be played in the T20 format. There will be six teams participating in the 16 matches tournament.
