Team India will be playing two T20 warm-up fixtures against Northamptonshire and Derbyshire on their tour of England this year.
According to ESPNcricinfo, both the practice matches will be clashing with India’s rescheduled fifth Test against England which is set to be played at Edgbaston from July 1 to 5.
India will be playing three T20Is and ODIs each in England this year, with the tour starting with the first T20I in Southampton on July 7, before the next two games at Edgbaston and Trent Bridge. India is currently leading the series 2-1 until the fourth Test of the incomplete tour in 2021. The final Test of their England tour last year, which was supposed to be held at Old Trafford in Manchester, was postponed over COVID-19 fears.
India will travel to The Incora County Ground to face Derbyshire in a Twenty20 Tour Fixture on Friday 1 July (7 pm start). Then in the 2nd warm match, Northamptonshire will welcome the number one ranked ICC team in T20I to Wantage Road. Thus, the first practice match will be played at the Incora County Ground in Derby, while the second game will be held at the County Ground in Northampton.
Before the start of this tour, team India will play two T20 Internationals in Malahide on June 26 and June 28. Cricket Ireland has confirmed that the Indian team would be touring Ireland for a short two-match T20I series in June. While England will be playing New Zealand in three home Test matches.
