IPL 2021: RR vs RCB “Confidence is key in bowling, so I am using that here” Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal is back in his prime form during the second leg of the IPL 2021 in the UAE.

Against Rajasthan Royals, captain Kohli brought him into the attack after 10th over. By the time, RR were already targeting a huge score and were at 94/1.

However, with his slow loopy deliveries Chahal changed the whole complexion o the game. He was taken for 9 runs in first over with a last ball special Six from Sanju Samson.

Howver, Chahal returned in next over and got the young batsman – Mahipal Lomror stumped with a googly.

With the pressure mounted in last 2 overs, Sanju Samson tried to target Shahbaz Ahmed in next over but holes out on first ball. The over brought another wicket as Rahul Tewatia was also dismissed on last ball.

In his 3rd over, Chahal gave away just 3 runs against Liam Livingstone & Riyan Parag – both new at the crease but known for their big hitting ability.

In his final over, Yuzvendra Chahal tossed ne up and lured Liam Livingstone to hit it straight back to long on. RR nosedived to 127/6 in 16.2 overs and could only manage 149 runs in 20 overs.

After such a splendid performance to bag his 4th Man of the Match award in IPL, Yuzvendra Chahal said:

Two left-handers were batting, so Virat said lets go with the medium pacer. He told me I will come when Lewis gets out, but I came on since Lewis was still going good.”

“I wanted them to play over covers since its wider there. Wanted to also blow slower. In the first half of IPL, I didn’t bowl well in 3-4 games. Then I spoke to players and family on what I’m doing wrong. And then I regained confidence in Sri Lanka. Confidence is key in bowling, so I am using that here.”

It is evident that Chahal is putting a trong case for his inclusion in the T20 World Cup Squad for India which can still be changed till 10th October.
