Kolkata Knight Riders secured 2 crucial points by beating Delhi Capitals in a low scoring thriller to enhance their playoff berth. Sunil Narine was the man to tilt the match in KKR’s side with his allround performance. First, he took 2 wickets for just 18 runs and later he played an aggressive cameo and scored 21 runs off just 10 balls.
After winning the toss, KKR skipper Eoin Morgan opted to field first. KKR made 2 changes in the playing 11 with Andre Russell & Prasidh Krishna sitting out for Tim Southee & Sandeep Warrior. Delhi Capitals also made a solitary change as Prithvi Shaw missed out due to a niggle to make way for Steve Smith.
After a good start with Smith & Dhawan adding 35 runs in just 5 overs, Delhi lost their way on the sluggish pitch. Apart from Steve Smith, Shikhar Dhawan only Rishabh Pant was able to reach double digits.

In the chase, KKR openers Shubman Gill & Venkatesh Iyer also started aggressively. But Lalit Yadav dismissed Iyer in 5th over whereas Avesh Khan dismissed Rahul Tripathi in next over.
Delhi Capitals bowlers kept the pressure on Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen until the 14th over bowled by Lalit Yadav which brought 20 runs for KKR. After losing Dinesh Karthik in next over, Sunil Narine played a little cameo to score 21 off just 10 balls to bring KKR close to victory.
But Nitish Rana kept his cool on the other end and took KKR over the victory line to secure 2 crucial points. Now KKR is having 10 points from 11 matches and sitting at 4th place.
