In another disappointing match for cricket fans in IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians lost their fourth consecutive match. Royal Challengers Bangalore canter to an easy 7 wickets victory and handed 4th consecutive defeat to Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022.
Anuj Rawat – the left handed swashbuckling opener made his first half-century in IPL career. He went on to score 66 runs off 47 deliveries before getting runout by a super direct-hit from Ramandeep Singh. Glenn Maxwell finished the match by hitting back to back boundaries off Dewald Brevis in 19th over.
Virat Kohli also looked in sublime touch as he scored 48 runs off 36 balls with 5 boundaries. Skipper Faf du Plessis however failed to convert his slow start into a big score as he perished for 16 off 24 balls in 9th over.
Earlier, Hasaranga de Silva & Harshal Patel choked MI batting lineup in middle overs meltdown. Harshal started with the wicket of Rohit Sharma immediately after the powerplay.
But the real troubles for MI started with the wicket off Dewald Brevis taken by Hasaranga de Silva. MI lost 4 wickets for just 2 runs including Kieron Pollard, Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma.
Suryakumar Yadav played another gem of an innings as he scored his consecutive half-century. SKY innings 68* off 37 balls took MI to a respectable score of 151/6 in 20 overs.
With the victory Mumbai Indians join fellow sufferers Chennai Super Kings at the bottom of the table. On the other hand Royal Challengers Bangalore have joined the table toppers KKR & GT with 3 victories to their name. Anuj Rawat earned his first player of the match award for his excellent innings of 66 runs.
