Delhi Capitals’ valiant effort of chasing a total of 223 runs against Rajasthan Royals went in vain as Royals secured a 15 runs victory. With the victory Rajasthan Royals went to the top of the points table with 10 points from 7 matches. The hero for RR is once again Jos Buttler who scored his 3rd century of the IPL 2022 season.

With 36 runs required off last 2 overs, Delhi Capitals were fancying their chances. Prasidh Krishna however bowled one of best death overs in IPL history as he took 1 wicket and didn’t conceded a single run.

However, the main controversial moment of the match came in the final over. Obed McCoy was struck for three consecutive monstrous sixes by Rovman Powell. But the third delivery was a hip-high full-toss for which the batter Powell & his partner Kuldeep Yadav asked for a No-ball.

Rishabh Pant & Capitals dugout also gesticulated the No-ball immediately afterwards. Pant also asked his batters to walk off the field and few minutes later send Pravin Amre to the field.

But by the time McCoy caught his breath and corrected his line to bowl a dot delivery and secure the match for Royals. Jos Buttler was declared as player of the match for his 3rd century of the IPL 2022 season.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Rishabh Pant invited RR to bat first. But since the start of the match it was pure “Buttler” show. He got a good support from Devdutt Padikkal who scored his first half-century of the season. The opening pair added 155 runs for the first wicket in just 15 overs.

Buttler eventually was dismissed for 116 runs off 65 balls as Rajasthan Royals amassed highest score of the season with 222/2. Sanju Samson also played a classy knock of 46* runs off 19 deliveries.
