Playing amid COVID-19 scare among the team camp, Delhi Capitals brushed away Punjab Kings by thumping margin. Delhi Capitals won the match by 9 wickets and 57 balls to spare giving a massive boost to their NRR.

Chasing a target of 116 runs, David Warner & Prithvi Shaw provided a brisk start and added 83 runs in just 6.3 overs. Prithvi Shaw missed out on his half century as he reached 2000 T20 runs in his innings of 41 off 20 balls. Warner remained unbeaten on 60 off 30 balls as he scored his third consecutive half-century of the season.

Earlier Rishabh Pant won the toss and invited Punjab Kings to bat first. Punjab Kings got their regular skipper Mayank Agarwal back along with Nathan Ellis in place of Prabhsimran Singh & Odean Smith. Delhi Capitals made only one change with Sarfaraz Khan coming in place of Mitchell Marsh.

Delhi Capitals bowlers kept a lid on Punjab Kings batters from the start. Jitesh Sharma was the top scorer for PBKS with 32 runs off 23 balls. Mayank Agarwal was the second best scorer with 24 off 15. Punjab Kings were bowled out for a paltry 115 runs in 20 overs.

All DC bowlers chipped in with wickets except Shardul Thakur. Khaleel Ahmed, Lalit Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav & Axar Patel all took 2 wickets each while Mustafizur took 1 wicket.

With the victory Delhi Capitals jumped to 6th place with 8 points in Points table from 6 matches while Punjab Kings dropped to 8th place with just 6 points from 7 matches.
