Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Mayank Agarwal is fit to play the game against Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium on Wednesday (April 20).
Agarwal missed the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad due to an injury in his toe. The scans revealed that there was no fracture which makes him available for the next game against Delhi Capitals.
He has marked 94 runs in this tournament so far with only one fifty plus score to his name. Prabhsimran Singh replaced Mayank Agarwal in the playing XI. In Agarwal’s absence, the team lost and missed his batting dearly as they managed just 152 batting first.
“Yes, he has recovered from injury and is available for selection. He could have played the last match but out of precaution, he was rested. Another final fitness test will be done on Wednesday morning and if he clears that, he is all good to go. He cleared the first fitness test yesterday. Hopefully, the final test won’t be an issue,” a PBKS official told InsideSport.
Stand-in captain Shikhar Dhawan informed at the toss that Mayank injured his toe while training on Saturday but should be fit for the next game against Delhi Capitals on April 20.
“Mayank injured his toe while training yesterday. He should be fine for the next game,” said Shikhar Dhawan.
PBKS are struggling at 7th place with three wins in 6 matches and they’ll take on Delhi Capitals in their next match on April 20.
