Royal Challengers Bangalore lost once again after posting a good total of 205 runs on the board against Punjab Kings in the 3rd match of IPL 2022. Odean Smith played a blinder in the death overs to take PBKS over the line with 1 over still to spare. PBKS won the match by 5 wickets and chased down a huge total of 205 runs.
RCB bowlers Mohammed Siraj & last year’s Purple cap holder – Harshal Patel bowled beautifully to keep PBKS in check. But once Odean Smith was dropped by Anuj Rawat and then Harshal missed a runout chance, he punished both bowlers.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa & Shikhar Dhawan played handy cameos at the top to keep PBKS Required Run Rate in check. Rajapaksa was especially severe on his compatriot Hasaranga de Silva in his innings of 43 off just 22 balls.
Earlier, Faf du Plessis played a magnificent innings in his first match as RCB skipper. Du Plessis scored 88 off 57 balls and his partnership along with Virat Kohli took RCB to 205/2. Dinesh Karthik played a superb cameo in the death overs and scored 32 runs off just 14 balls.
