Ireland will be playing a three-match T20I series against the UAE and one warm up game against Scotland just before the ICC T20 World Cup in UAE and Oman.
An official press release coming from the Emirates Cricket Board confirmed the development which makes it good news for the Irishman as it’ll be a good practice for them before the showpiece event.
“The fixtures were officially announced by the Emirates Cricket Board this morning as part of the ‘DafaNews Summer T20 Blast’ – a series of fixtures between 5-10 October involving UAE, Ireland, Scotland, Namibia, and Papua New Guinea. Emirates Cricket Board will confirm broadcast details of the series shortly.”
Post the conclusion of the T20I series against UAE, the Andy Balbirnie Ied Ireland will play two official ICC T20 World Cup warm-up matches against Papua New Guinea and Bangladesh in the official T20 which will be followed by the qualifying leg of the 20-over tournament where they are set to face Namibia, Netherlands, and Sri Lanka.
According to the sources, Ireland will leave for the UAE on Friday (September 24) where after reaching they have to go through a mandatory six day quarantine period in the hotel.
