After a brief pause in 2020, Japan Premier League is all set to be played in 2022. The Japan Premier League i.e JPL 2022 will be played from 29 April 2022 and the finals will be played on 01 May 2022. All the matches of JPL 2022 will be played at Sano International Cricket Ground. There will be a total of 5 teams participating in this year’s tournament.
In 2020, Japan Premier League was postponed midway after two matches due to COVID-19 pandemic. This year, Japan Cricket Association brought back the JPL which is the highest domestic cricket league of Japan.
The 5 teams participating in the tournament will represent East, West, South and North Kanto as well as Kansai.
Japan Premier League T20 Schedule
In JPL 2022 each team plays every other team once followed by a final between the top two teams. Here is the tentative schedule of JPL 2022:
- 29 April 2022 – Match 1 – South Kanto Super Kings vs Kansai Chargers
- 29 April 2022 – Match 2 – North Kanto Lions vs West Kanto Hurricanes
- 29 April 2022 – Match 3 – South Kanto Super Kings vs East Kanto Sunrisers
- 29 April 2022 – Match 4 – Kansai Chargers vs North Kanto Lions
- 30 April 2022 – Match 5 – North Kanto Lions vs West Kanto Hurricanes
- 30 April 2022 – Match 6 – South Kanto Super Kings vs West Kanto Hurricanes
- 30 April 2022 – Match 7 – Kansai Chargers vs East Kanto Sunrisers
- 30 April 2022 – Match 8 – South Kanto Super Kings vs North Kanto Lions
