Who won today’s IPL match?: In the 61st match of IPL 2022, Kolkata Knight Riders registered an emphatic victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad to keep their IPL Playoffs alive. First KKR scored 177/6 with Andre Russell scoring 49 runs off 28 balls, then they restricted SRH to 123/8 to win Today IPL match by 54 runs.
With this emphatic victory, KKR has kept their IPL playoffs hopes alive but they need the results of other matches also to go their way. KKR are currently placed 6th in IPL Points Table with 12 points from 13 matches. While with the loss, Sunrisers Hyderabad slipped to 8th position with 10 points from 12 matches.
Today’s IPL match result
After winning the toss KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer opted to bat first. KKR made two changes with Umesh Yadav & Sam Billings coming in the playing 11. SRH Made three changes with T Natarajan, Washington Sundar & Marco Jansen making their way into playing 11.
After losing Venkatesh Iyer in 2nd over, KKR scored aggressively with Nitish Rana scoring 26 runs off 16 and Rahane scoring 28 off 24. Umran Malik dismissed both the batters in first over to reduce KKR to 72/3.
Soon KKR lost two more wickets to 94/5 in 11.3 overs but Sam Billings & Andre Russell added 63 runs for 6th wicket. Billings scored 34 off 28 while Russell remained unbeaten at 49 off 28.
In the chase, SRH skipper – Kane Williamson struggle with the bat continued in IPL 2022. Abhishek Sharma kept his aggressive top order hitting ongoing as he top scored for the team with 43 runs off 28 balls.
But SRH keep losing wickets at the others end as all KKR bowlers chipped in with wickets. Aiden Markram scored 32 runs while Shashank Singh scored 11 as other batters fall for single digit scores.
Andre Russell took 3 wickets while Tim Southee took 2 wickets. Umesh Yadav, Sunil Narine & Varun Chakravarthy took 1 wicket each.
