The IPL Governing Council has set 30 Nov as the deadline for existing 8 teams to submit their retained players’ list for IPL 2022 mega auction.

While Delhi Capitals & Rajasthan Royals have announced few retentions, lets have a look at the best predicted player retentions preference for each Team for IPL 2022.
#1 – Chennai Super Kings
Predicted retained players – MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali & Ruturaj Gaikwad
There is no second guess that MS Dhoni would be the first player to be retained by CSK. He will retained by CSK for a salary cap of 16 Cr. Ravindra Jadeja would be the second retention for INR 12 Cr.
England’s allrounder – Moeen Ali will be the next player to be retained by CSK for 8 Cr. Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, who won the Orange cap in IPL 2021, will be retained for 6 Cr.
#2 – Delhi Capitals
Retained Players – Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel & Anrich Nortje
As of Nov 26, Delhi Capitals have already announced their finalised list of retained players. Skipper, Rishabh Pant is the first one to be retained by the franchise for INR 16 Cr. Prithvi Shaw is the second player to be retained for 12 Cr.
Fast bowler Anrich Nortje, who has impressed all cricket fans with his impressive fast bowling is the next one on the list for INR 8 Cr. Allrounder Axar Patel is the last on the list to be retained for 6 Cr.
#3 – Royal Challengers Bangalore
Predicted retained players – Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Devdutt Padikkal & Harshal Patel
RCB fans would be missing one of their all time favorite – AB de Villiers who announced his retirement on November 19. However, they are also facing a challenge to nominate a new skipper in place of Virat Kohli.
Unsurprisingly, Virat Kohli would be the first name to be retained by RCB for INR 16 Cr (however, he might be offered more than 16 Cr also). Glenn Maxwell could be the second one to be picked for 12 Cr.
Opener Devdutt Padikkal can be picked up as the 3rd player by RCB for INR 8 Cr with fast bowler Harshal Patel as last with INR 6 Cr.
#4 – Kolkata Knight Riders
Predicted retained players – Andre Russell, Venkatesh Iyer
Kolkata Knight Riders might be looking to retain Andre Russell as their sole player for IPL 2022 for INR 14 Cr. With no other player deserving more than 10 crores in auction, it might be possible that KKR picks up Venkatesh Iyer as second player.
#5 – Mumbai Indians
Predicted retained players – Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya
5 time IPL champions Mumbai Indians would be looking to retain as many players from the core group as possible. While Rohit Sharma & Jasprit Bumrah are sure shots to be retained for INR 16 Cr and 12 Cr respectively.
Apart from these, Mumbai Indians management would be struggling to pick other two players. They have options in the form of Kieron Pollard, Suryakumar yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Quinton de Kock & Trent Boult.
From overseas players, Pollard is the front-runner to be retained by the franchise for 8 Cr. This will leave MI to pick either Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan or Hardik Pandya for the last slot.
With Hardik Pandya bowling, he is will surely get more than 10 Cr in the auction so in all probability, MI will retain Hardik Pandya.
#6 – Rajasthan Royals
Retained – Sanju Samson, Predicted – Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler & Yashasvi Jaiswal
Rajasthan Royals have already announced the retention of skipper Sanju Samson ahead of the IPL 2022 for INR 14 Cr. Apart from Sanju, RR team might retain opener Jos Buttler as second player for 12 Cr and fast bowler Jofra Archer for 8 Cr.
Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal might also get a retention for INR 6 Cr. In case Archer is not fit, RR might think of Liam Livingstone as the other option.
#7 – Sunrisers Hyderabad
Predicted Retained Players – Kane Williamson, Rashid Khan, Umran Malik
While the fans want David Warner to be retained by the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, it is sure that the left-handed swashbuckling opener will be going into auction. It will leave SRH management to choose skipper Kane Williamson as the first choice retention for INR 14 Cr.
Rashid Khan will be second player to be retained by SRH team for INR 10 Cr. Young fast bowling sensation – Umran Malik can also be retained by the franchise but in that case it will be a big sum of INR 7 Cr.
#8 – Punjab Kings
Predicted Retained Players – KL Rahul, Ravi Bishnoi & Arshdeep Singh
While skipper KL Rahul dont want to continue with the Punjab Kings franchise, they would not mind shelling INR 14 or 16 Cr for him. If that doesnt work out then PBKS might retain only Ravi Bishnoi & Arshdeep Singh for INR 4 Cr each.
