ICC welcome USA and Namibia as hosts for the major upcoming ICC tournaments
The International Cricket Council (ICC) have announced the list of all nations set to host the major ICC events in this decade. For the first-time ever, USA and Namibia will be seen hosting an ICC Tournament.
While the USA will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in June 2024 alongside West Indies, Namibia will host the Men’s Cricket World Cup for the first time alongside Zimbabwe and South Africa.
A cricket-action filled calendar for the all the fans will start from the year 2024 and will elongate till 2031 with one ICC tournament to take place every year.
Notably, ICC tournament sees a return to Pakistan for the first time ever since 1996. In February 2025, Pakistan will host the Men’s Champions Trophy. It will be the first major global cricket tournament played in Pakistan since 1996 when it hosted the Men’s Cricket World Cup alongside India and Sri Lanka.
Schedule of the upcoming ICC Tournaments
2024: In June 2024, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be hosted in USA and West Indies.
2025: After eight months gap, in February 2025, ICC Men’s Champions Trophy is slated to take place in Pakistan.
2026: In 2026, India and Sri Lanka will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
2027: In October/November 2027, Namibia will host the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup for the first time alongside Zimbabwe and South Africa.
2028: In October 2028 the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be played in Australia and New Zealand.
2029: India will host the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy in 2029.
2030: England will share ICC Men’s T20 World Cup hosting duties with Ireland and Scotland. It will be the first time since 1999 that Ireland and Scotland have hosted a major global cricket event.
2031: To cap off an extensive cricket decade, in October/November 2031, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will be played in India and Bangladesh.
