Moeen motivated to clinch the first Hundred title

“I’ve loved every minute of The Hundred and captaining Birmingham Phoenix, as my home team in the tournament, has been an honor. Livi has done a fantastic job in leading from the front in the last two games and in getting us over the line to secure our place at Lord’s. I can’t wait to join back up with the squad and pushing us forward, hopefully to a first title,” Moeen Ali said according to ESPNCricinfo.

Overton, meanwhile, was added to England’s squad once Ben Stokes withdrew to take an indefinite break from the game. The all-rounder will join Southern Brave in time for their eliminator match against Trent Rockets at the Oval on Friday.

The inaugural final of the hundred ball tournament will be played at the home of cricket- Lord’s, soon after which he’ll rejoin the Test squad on Sunday to prepare for the third Test against India at Leeds, Headingley.

On the other hand, New Zealand pair of Finn Allen and Colin de Grandhomme are both leaving the Hundred tournament ahead of their series against Bangladesh and Pakistan later.
