Kolkata Knight Riders’ players Karun Nair and Nitish Rana, alongside Delhi Capitals’ pacer Avesh Khan, took their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The cricketers took to their Instagram handles to share the update on getting their first dose.
KKR Opener Nitish Rana’s caption asked a rhetorical question to his followers. It stated, “I got vaccinated. What about you?”. In his joyous way, he urges fans to get vaccinated.
In KKR’s season opener, Nitish Rana scored a blistering 80 off just 56 balls. He later went on to score 201 runs in seven games averaging 28.71.
Indian cricketers have come out and stepped up to get themselves vaccinated along with families and urging everyone, those eligible, to get vaccinated.

Nitish Rana’s KKR teammate, Karun Nair, too, got his first jab and shared a heartfelt note on the occasion of International Nurses Day on his Instagram page.
“Vaccinated. On the occasion of International Nursers Day, I’d like to express my gratitude to all the healthcare warriors putting their lives on the line to help us battle such unprecedented times. Stay safe, Wear a mask, and get vaccinated when you can” the caption of his post read.
He is urging each and everyone around his reach to wear a mask and get vaccinated as soon as an opportunity comes along.
Karun Nair has been a part of the KKR squad for the 2021 campaign after having a poor stint last year with the Punjab Kings. Overall, in 73 games, Karun has scored 1480 runs striking at 128.36, with his highest score being 83*.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals’ frontline pacer Avesh Khan, too, gets his first shot of the vaccine. Much like other cricketers, he too shared the news via his Instagram handle.
“Just got my first dose of vaccine. Get yours as soon as possible. Stay safe everyone.” wrote Avesh Khan, trying to reach out to people and help spread awareness about the importance of getting vaccinated.
Avesh had a dream run in IPL 2021. Playing eight games for DC this season, Avesh has 14 scalps under his belt, including the wicket of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.
