Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is now planning to suspend the contract of the fast bowler after he was arrested for possessing heroine. CEO of SLC, Mr. Ashley de Silva said:
“We have not been officially informed on this yet. He is a contracted player. We will take action to suspend his contract if he carries a drug charge.“
The provincial magistrate at Kuliyapitiya in the north-western province ordered him to be remanded till June 2.
Madhushanka started his ODI career against Bangladesh in January 2018 and in his first match only he took a hat-trick. He was the fourth player in the ODI history to achieve the feat.
Later on he played in 2 T20I matches also against Bangladesh in the same tour. However, in the second T20I match, he took two early wickets in one over and ruled out of bowling because of hamstring injury.
