Ottis Gibson joins Multan Sultans as the assistant and bowling coach

Ottis Gibson has been roped in as the assistant as well as fast bowling coach by the Multan Sultans for PSL 2022, as it was announced by the franchise on January 12.

Defending champions of the PSL Multan Sultans welcomed their new assistant coach and bowling through a tweet-

#WorldT20 winning Head Coach with the West Indies as well as the former Head Coach of South Africa, with successful stints in the past as the Fast Bowling Coach of England & Bangladesh, Ottis Gibson joins the #Sultans as our Assistant and Fast Bowling Coach! Multan Sultans tweeted on Wednesday.

Former West Indies pace bowler, Gibson, played two Tests and 15 ODIs between 1995 and 1999. He featured in 177 first-class matches where he bagged 659 wickets and scored 5604 runs.

Gibson has also decided not to renew his contract as the bowling coach of the Bangladesh men’s cricket team and he will finish his two-year stint with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on January 20.

The 52-year-old has not only coached the West Indies but also South Africa and has had successful stints as fast bowling coach with England and Bangladesh. His tenure includes a World T20 title as well.

Sultans’ coaching staff includes Andy Flower, who is the head coach of the side while Mushtaq Ahmed would be doing the duties of spin bowling coach. Richard Halsall is the fielding coach of the side and joining the elite group will be Otis Gibson for the PSL 2022.
