India Cricket Team’s star allrounder – Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 with a knee injury. He will undergo a major knee surgery which will keep him out of action for an indefinite time.
Ravindra Jadeja, who played the first two matches of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan and Hong Kong, played a key role with his allrounding performance. His absence will be huge blow for Team India in Asia Cup as well as T20 World Cup 2022.
“Jadeja’s right knee injury is pretty serious,” a senior BCCI official told PTI. “He is supposed to undergo a major knee surgery and will be out of action for indefinite period of time. At this point, if one goes by the assessment of the NCA’s medical team, one can’t put a timeline on his imminent international comeback.”
There is no definite time limit for Jadeja’s international comeback however it might take between three to six months. Axar Patel has been named as Ravindra Jadeja’s replacement for Asia Cup. He also provides a like to like replacement with his allround abilities.
Now, Jadeja’s injury will leave BCCI in tough waters to find the replacement. Axar Patel offers similar allround capabilities with left arm spin but Deepak Hooda offers aggressive batting and off spin. Deepak Chahar can be good in Australia with his swing and death order batting.
