Fans want both the Indian wicket keeper batsman- Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha to play in the same eleven when India will take on Australia for the fourth and final Test of the series.
India tied one of the most memorable games in the history of Test cricket, when they saved the Pink Test against host Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
Rishabh Pant played a key role in India’s defience at the SCG. Struggling with injury he cracked a quickfire 97 off 118 balls on the last day in Sydney. He blazed away with 12 fours and 3 sixes. Pant’s innings gave Indian camp and the fans some hope of chasing down the total of 400+ on a track which was offering variable bounce. As long as Pant was in the crease, India stood with a chance of scripting a historic victory on the Australian soil.
But Pant’s role behind the stumps has always been under scanner. Many experts has criticised him for his glovework. His flawless batting is known to everyone and by scoring hundreds in England and Australia he showed that he has all the attributes to become a successful Test match batsman. England former Cricketer Nick Knight has said the same thing on a post match show. Knight said Pant can play as a specialist batsman and the more he’ll bat higher up the order more it’ll be benificiary for team India. He also drawn Pant’s comparisons with the number all-rounder in the world-Ben Stokes.
Whereas Saha has been termed as the best Wicket keeper in the World by his skipper Virat Kohli. Saha has been a brilliant keeper and his safe hands behind the wickets has been one of the big reasons for his inclusion in the eleven. Even in the Sydney Test he replaced Pant in the second innings to take the gloves and did better then Pant. Twitter called on the team management to make a sensible decision and play both in the playing XI.
Twitteratis on the debatable topic:
I think Mayank will be playing in the next test itself. With Jadeja and Vihari both out, they'll need to reinforce batting. Mayank at the top, Rohit at 4 and Saha at 7 with Pant playing as a specialist batsman.

Rishabh batting and Saha keeping really is the best of both worlds #AusvInd

Agarwal should replace Vihari in fourth Test. Pant to play as a specialist batsman, Saha as keeper. Maybe get Shardul Thakur or even T Natarajan in place of Navdeep Saini. #AUSvIND

If Bairstow, Foakes, Buttler; Wade and Paine; Latham and Watling can play together then what's the harm in playing Saha and Pant together. Saha can replace Vihari if reqd. Both will score same amt of runs…
