Sheldon Jackson, following in the footsteps of his Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) teammate Patt Cummins, has made an undisclosed donation to Gautam Gambhir Foundation to help India in its fight against COVID-19. He also hailed the foundation for the work they are doing during these times.
Jackson released an Instagram story to share the news of the same. He also urged the citizens of the country to follow the protocols in place to stay safe.
“In these difficult times for our beloved country, my heart goes out to everyone who is suffering. I pray that the good times return sooner rather than later. I request you all to please follow the SOPs as directed by the authorities, please stay home as much as possible and wear your masks at all times when you step outside.”
“I have made a humble contribution towards the Gautam Gambhir Foundation (GGF) who are doing an excellent job in helping as many people as possible. I urge you all to do the same and donate whatever amount you can to your trusted fund or organization as every rupee counts the fight against COVID-19. Please stay safe and stay healthy,” Sheldon Jackson added.

During this time of crisis, cricketers are trying to step up in doing all they can to help India in this fight. Cummins, after his donation, urged other players to come forward as well.
The Indian Premier League (IPL), which got the nod from BCCI to go ahead, is continuing with all personnel in strict bio-secure bubbles with safety protocols in place.
The tournament is being conducted at a time when India is facing a devastating COVID-19 second wave with a daily average of 3 lakh cases. The virus has already rattled plenty of lives in the country, with not much respite yet.
Sheldon Jackson awaits his chance at KKR
Coming on the back of strong domestic performances, Sheldon Jackson was picked by the KKR management during this year’s IPL auction. However, he is yet to get a game.
KKR, meanwhile, is back to winning ways after their victory of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Monday.
They restricted the PBKS to a modest total of 123 after 20 overs and then chased it down comfortably with skipper Eoin Morgan top-scoring with a 47 not out.
