Shpageeza Cricket League is an annual T20 cricket tournament organized by Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB). The eighth (8th) edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League (SCL) will be held at Kabul International Stadium.
There will be eight teams participating in the SCL 2022 which are Amo Sharks, Band-e Amir Dragons, Bost Defenders, Kabul Eagles, Mis Ainak Knights and Spinghar Tigers and two new teams (Hindukhus Stars and Pamir Zalmi).
Kabul Eagles are the defending champions as they won the SCL for the 2nd time in 2020. The Players’ Draft for the eighth edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League – SCL2022 was held recently at the National Academy. The draft saw 142 national and uncapped players being drafted in five different categories by eight franchises.
Afghanistan’s premier leg-spinner Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Najibullah Zadran are some of the top-flight Afghanistan players who have been retained by their respective franchises.
