SL vs Ind 2021: “They responded, and we responded back like a champion team” – Rahul Dravid after Team India’s remarkable win against Sri Lanka in the 2nd ODI

India’s head coach for the Sri Lanka tour Rahul Dravid was full of praise for the team after winning the 2nd ODI against the hosts in Colombo on Tuesday. He called them a champion team in his speech after the completion of the game in the dressing room.

Great feeling to win the game- Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar after the 2nd ODI 

The opening bowling pair of Deepak Chahar(69*) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar(19*) took India to an unlikely win over Sri Lanka with their unbroken 84-run partnership for the 8th wicket.

BCCI took to their official Twitter handle to post a video of the Indian team’s celebrations after their thrilling win in the second ODI:

Bhuvneshwar Kumar who played a supporting role to Deepak Chahar in their partnership credited the latter for single-handedly turned the game in favor of India.

The kind of position that we were in, it was a great feeling to win the game from that position. Especially Deepak Chahar fittingly hit the winning runs, because he was the one who single-handedly turned the game in our favour,” said Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the video.

Deepak Chahar, the player of the match in the game said he he was happy after the win.

It was great fun. We won the game and after fielding of 50 overs I batted for 25 overs so I am really happy,

Suryakumar Yadav who made a well-compiled 53(his 1st half-century in ODIs) said this was one of the best games he was part of.

I don’t have words. I think this is one of the best games I have been part of, I have seen live,” said Suryakumar Yadav in this video

The coach of the team Rahul Dravid hailed the team for finding a way to win the game.

They responded, and we responded back like a champion team with our backs to the wall and found a way to win. Really well done to all of you. Fantastic win!” Dravid said.
