S Sreesanth’s career got jeopardized after he was handed over lifetime ban by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for indulging in the alleged spot-fixing scandal in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, his lifetime was reduced to seven years which eventually ended last year in the month of September.

The speedster’s name was also added in Kerala’s squad for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, 2021 which led to him making his comeback in competitive cricket against Puducherry. The fans were glued to their TV sets as they saw Sreesanth bowling against the opposition with the same aggressive attitude, intensity, late swing right from the very first delivery.

Although, the Kerala born pacer made the cricketing fraternity wait till the 7th ball of his spell for the celebration he is known for. Sreesanth has been in the news several times as is often heard saying that he still has a lot of cricket left. He lived up his words yesterday after he was seen knocking off the timber of Puducherry batsman – Fabid Ahmed. The old banana swing was on display as the batsman completely misjudged the line of the delivery which went on to hit the off-stump.

After having a good day with the ball, Sreesanth took to his Twitter account and thanked his fans and well wishers for showering their support towards him. He wrote, “Thanks a lot for all the support and love’s just the beginning..with all of ur wishes and prayers many many many more to go.. lots of respect to u nd family.”

Here is the video of the wicket:

The 37-year-old ended his quota of 4 overs, registering the figures of 29/1 in the match. Sreesanth has played 27 Tests, 53 ODIs, 10 T20Is for India so far and has claimed a total of 169 wickets across the formats. The veteran pacer has started his comeback journey on a good note and the fans are hoping to see him climb new heights further in his cricketing career.
