Suryakumar Yadav became first Indian to hit six off the first ball in debut innings

Suryakumar Yadav became the first Indian player to start his international career with a first-ball six. In the fourth T20I between India and England Surya hit six on the first ball he faced off Jofra Archer.

SKY got back in the team for fourth T20I as Ishan Kishan wasn’t fully fit. He made his India debut in second but didn’t get the chance to bat in that game. Surya was dropped from team in third game as Rohit Sharma was available to play. After Rohit Sharma got out, Suryakumar Yadav came out to bat at number 3. Jofra Archer welcomed him with a pacy back of the length ball, Surya was quick to get on backfoot and hooked it over fine leg. The ball clicked 143.9kph on the speedometer but SKY sent it across the boundary easily.

Before Suryakumar Yadav, 7 players had done this in Men’s T20I cricket. Caribbean cricketers top this list. 4 West Indians namely Tino Best, Kieron Pollard, Xavier Marshall, and Jerome Taylor have hit six off the first ball they faced in T20 internationals. Mark Adair of Ireland, Mangaliso Mosehle from South Africa and Pakistan’s Sohail Tanvir are other three cricketers.
