The ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2022 is set to get underway from January 14, Friday. Four nations in the West Indies will host the tournament this time around. A total of 16 teams will be taking part in the marquee U19 event. The teams are divided into four groups and a total of 48 matches will be played. Bangladesh U19 are the defending champions having won the 2020 edition. The final will be played on February 5.
As the ICC U19 Men’s World Cup 2022 is all set to get rolling, here is a look at the kits of all teams that have been released so far.
Australia have gone for a yellow jersey with stripes of green. Their U19 World Cup jersey is similar to what the senior team sports in white-ball cricket. It is also the jersey that Australia wore in the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup that they won. The U19 team will also hope that this jersey brings them glory in the competition.
Bangladesh will be seen sporting their personal shade of green with sleeves in red color for the U19 World Cup this time. They also have an alternate jersey which will predominantly be red in color, if required.
Canada will have a similar jersey to their senior men’s team. The jersey is primarily in red color with black shades at the bottom on either side to go with the red. Therefore, they will be seen in their classic red attire once again.
England U19 have opted for a jersey that is almost similar to that of their senior team’s ODI kit. They have gone for a lighter shade of blue for this edition of the U19 World Cup. The senior team has done well, winning the 2019 ICC World Cup and the U19 team will also hope for the same at this tournament.
India U19 is the most successful team in the history of the U19 World Cup. The team will be seen in a kit that is similar to that of the senior men’s team in limited overs cricket. India will be eyeing their fifth title at the U19 World Cup this time around.
Ireland have opted to go for an emerald green jersey for this edition of the U19 World Cup. The jersey is a reflection of their senior ODI team’s kit, that is also touring the West Indies at the moment.
Pakistan have come up with a unique jersey design for the U19 World Cup 2022. They have launched two jerseys for the tournament. The first jersey is a combination of a dark and lighter shade of green, separated by horizontal stripes. Their alternate kit is also a combination, of yellow and green, which is highlighted by horizontal stripes.
Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea U19 team, also known as the Garamuts, have brought back the kit which their senior team sported at the ICC T20 World Cup. Thus, the similar jersey will be sported by the U19 side as well.
Scotland U19 team will be seen in their usual dark blue attire that the senior team is seen in. They have taken inspiration from their classic ODI design. Moreover, they have added to the mix with the tartan sleeves as well.
Sri Lanka U19 side also gone for a similar jersey to that of their national team. This jersey, a combination of shades of blue with a mix of yellow, was worn by the national team at the T20 World Cup. Thus, the jersey is attractive with a mix of dark and light shades.
Uganda is one of those associate nations who have had a bold approach towards their jersey designs. This time around, they have come up with a mix of yellow and red, two colors that are known to go well with each other.
West Indies U19 are the hosts of the U19 World Cup 2022. Sticking to their traditional color of maroon, they have gone for two shades of the same. Their jersey also has the iconic palm tree design on the shirt’s torso.
Zimbabwe U19 have gone with a blend of red and yellow for their jersey design. Their national bird’s logo is also a part of the jersey. However, it only makes a minimal appearance at the bottom of the shirt.
