West Indies vs Australia 2021: The 2nd ODI between the teams suspended just moments before the start of play

The 2nd ODI between the hosts West Indies and Australia at Barbados was suspended just moments before the 1st ball was bowled as a non-playing member of the West Indies camp tested positive for Covid-19.
Toss was done and Alex Carey, the skipper of Australia chose to bat first after winning it. Riley Meredith was handed an ODI debut by the visitors. The daily results came just before the commencement and they decided to suspend the game as one of them emerged positive.
The players, TV Crews, match officials all went into isolation. The CWI in a statement said all the members will be retested on Thursday and remain in isolation till the results come.
The second CG Insurance ODI between West Indies and Australia has been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test result from a non-playing member of the West Indies staff. This decision was taken after the toss at Kensington Oval once the result was known,” a CWI statement said.
The established COVID-19 protocols stipulate that all members of both teams and match officials will return immediately to the team hotel and will be re-tested later today. They will remain in isolation in their hotel rooms until their PCR-Test results are returned. A decision on when the match will be replayed will be made at a later date once all the test results are confirmed,” it added.
 “The Australian squad has returned to the team hotel and is in in-room isolation. No further comment will be made at this stage,” A Cricket Australia spokesman said.
It is said that the game will be played at a later date but this has put the entire tour in jeopardy with one more ODI to be played on the 25th of July.
Adding to this, the Australian team is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on 29th July for their just confirmed T20I series against the hosts. Moreover, the West Indies team is also due to face the visiting Pakistan team in a 5-match T20I series starting from 27th July. Babar Azam-led Pakistan has already arrived in Barbados where the 2 teams will 2 games.
